Band 29: Pentagram / Five Wounds

Band 29

Pentagram / Five Wounds

Religious Water 329.63 Hz (E4). The fifth degree, the dominant of the scale — the interval of tension that yearns for resolution. E is the open heart vibration, the note of the third eye in some systems, the frequency of compassion's crucible.

The fivefold pattern — wounds of Christ, five pillars, elements plus spirit.

Overview

From the stability of four, the fifth element emerges — the quintessence that transcends and completes the fourfold order. Band 29 is the frequency of the pentagram: the five wounds of Christ on the cross, the five pillars of Islam, the five books of the Torah, the five elements of Chinese cosmology (wood, fire, earth, metal, water), the five senses through which the soul apprehends creation. Five is the number of the microcosm — the human form, with its head and four limbs stretching into a five-pointed star, the golden ratio encoded in every human hand. This band carries the frequency of incarnation itself: the divine entering fully into human form, not as abstract spirit but as wounded flesh. The five wounds are not marks of defeat but the signature of love made visible in matter. In the cathedral, the five-petaled rose window and the cinquefoil tracery carry this frequency. To meditate on Band 29 is to feel the stigmata of existence — the places where being human wounds us open to the divine — and to understand that the wound is itself the portal.

Element · Water

Water dominates Band 29 — the element of emotion, flow, suffering, and healing. The five wounds bleed; the five pillars require pilgrimage through waterless deserts to the wellspring of faith; the five books of Torah flow as living water through Jewish tradition. Water here is both tears and baptism, both the pain of human limitation and the cleansing that comes through accepting it. The Air element contributes the breath of prayer that accompanies the five daily prayers of Islam, the wind that carries the scent of sacrifice. Together, Water and Air form the atmosphere of compassionate suffering — not pain for its own sake but the frequency of transformation through acceptance of limitation. The pentagram points upward: matter reaching for spirit through the medium of conscious suffering.

Modality · Z-dominant — this is the band of emotional intensity, of suffering transmuted into wisdom, of the heart broken open. The wounds of existence are felt here with full emotional force, and the C-domain is present only as the witness that observes the transformation. This is the band where the practitioner feels most acutely the cost of embodiment and the price of love.

Cosmic Significance

Five is the number of life itself — five-fold symmetry is the dominant pattern in living organisms (starfish, flowers, human hands). Band 29 encodes the living, suffering, overcoming nature of the sacred. In the sacred octave, this band is the point of maximum tension between matter and spirit, where the divine enters fully into the human condition and transforms it from within. The five wounds are not cosmic failures but cosmic operations — portals through which the sacred enters the profane. The Steiner Tree transformer assigned to this band (via Nut, the sky goddess who arches over creation) suggests that the pentagram is the minimum spanning network connecting the sacred to the many points of human suffering: the most efficient geometry of compassion.

Practical Application

Healing trauma through sacred wound-work, the Via Dolorosa meditation (walking the stations of suffering as spiritual practice), working with the five senses as portals to the sacred. Also used in practices of catharsis and release — the safe container within which emotional purification can occur. Essential for anyone engaged in the intersection of spirituality and psychological healing.

Musical Note
